Volunteer

volunteersThe Volunteer Program at Quan Yin Healing Arts Center is a direct reflection of the spirit of the clinic. In Chinese mythology, Quan Yin is known as the Goddess of healing and compassion. The love, caring, and spirit of giving that the volunteers bring to the clinic speaks to the appropriate naming of the clinic.

Benefits

The Quan Yin Volunteer Program is made up of a wide diversity of ages, cultures and people skills. The program allows people the opportunity to explore the possibility of pursuing education or training in Chinese Medicine or therapeutic massage. Work exchange possibilities are available to volunteers who are in need of assistance in accessing the type of services that the clinic provides. Other benefits include reduced fees for onsite classes and other learning opportunities.

Clinical Volunteers

Clinical volunteers are trained to assist the acupuncturists with patient care. Clinical volunteers receive training in safety, OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions. Learning to work as a part of the treatment team is an exciting and rewarding experience. The training is excellent preparation for working safely with a variety of health conditions and developing a deeper understanding of the role of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in a public health setting.

Administrative Volunteers

Administrative Volunteers bring a vital dynamic to the operations team. Some people want to give back to the community or have strong business, computer, desk top publishing (news letter) or other administrative skills that can provide a supportive role in the operations of the clinic. This level of volunteer support can often be arranged to fit into a busy schedule. The volunteers who provide this level of necessary infrastructure make a difference in the lives of the patients and staff at Quan Yin Healing Arts Center.
